Borderless: Celebrating Difference
From 12pm Women of the World : WOW join us to start the day with one of their powerful gatherings
From 2pm Panel discussions:
2pm: ‘Sexism, objectifying women and rape culture: where does it come from and how can we end it?’
4pm: Xenophobia, Racism, hate crime: where does it come from and how can we end it?
Speakers include : Founder of Bristol is the new black: Chante Joseph, Anti-extremism campaigner and journalist; Anira Khokhar, Gal-Dem author and founder of Intervention; Yewande Adeniran, Founder of Safe Space; Megan Bakerm Artist and member of BEEF; Libita Clayton and Founder of VOIC; Folami Prehaye
Until 6pm : Workshops ( Until 6pm )including Voguing, superwoman badge making, empowerment cross stitch and an amazing collage workshop hosted by different groups: Using image and visuals as a tool to help understand and connect with each other.
All Day: Stalls, food and drink, short films and an exhibition on the theme of identity by women in Bristol. SIFH's Self portrat exhibition : 'Powerful women' Exploring identity by women in bristol.
Evening:
From 6.30pm: Live music, performances and spoken word Take overs by Thorny and Safron records (all performances by women and non-binary people)
In our society the voices of women and oppressed genders are often ignored: although the event is open to everyone, the day will be led by women (trans, intersex and cis) and non-binary people with particular focus on people of colour.
