WHO AM I: new dance project comes to Trinity

Say your story through dance with H.Y.P.E’s new dance project WHO AM I?

WHO AM I? Is a Bristol based dance project starting Thursday 5 October, run by Natasha Benjamin in collaboration with Bristol City Council and Trinity Community Arts. This diverse project is open to 16-30 year olds of beginner to advanced level, who want to tell their story through dance or just want to dance/ train and be part of an innovative project.

There are 30 spaces open to dancers of all dance styles who would like to take part, and each individual will have the chance to put forward a dance idea. 15 people will then be chosen to teach over the period of a year to create a stage/ film piece based on this idea, and each time you teach you will be paid an hourly rate!

"We are seeking all dance styles: Street, Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Commercial, African and Bollywood, and are looking for a range of people from different backgrounds/ races/ sexes and nationalities".

Everyone is welcome, whether you are a trained dancer or have never danced at all. At the end of the year everyone will showcase their work and receive a certificate and a filmed copy of the performance.

If you are interested in signing up for this project, please send your full name, age and date of birth, and full contact details to ‘whoamidanceproject@hotmail.com’ or for further enquiries, contact Tasha on 07717574482.

Thursdays 7-9pm, starting 5 October.
