On the 13th May 2023, Trinity hosted the Bristol leg of the Greenham Women Everywhere exhibition tour, celebrating the important feminist movement that involved women nationally supported by the Art

Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp was an enduring and iconic protest spanning 19 years from 1981 - 2000. Whilst the occupation of the common began with the aim of forcing out the US nuclear warheads from Berkshire, the protest became a focal point of feminist history and has left a legacy of women’s liberation around the world.

The exhibition day featured a choral singing workshop with Pearl Love, a Greenham baby, who believes harmonic singing is an important way to create community, joy and connection.

There was an inspiring discussion from protestors then and now featuring Greenham woman Juley Howard, author of ‘Righteous Anger’, a book based on interviews, press cuttings and Juley's contemporary diaries, gives an insight into the motivation and morality of one anti-nuclear protester over a decade of non-violent direct action against Cruise missiles.

Also activity such as a drop-in protest printmaking workshop with Caroline Wilkins as well as the exhibition of photographs from Christine Bradshaw’s 'Greenham Portraits' series.

The event also involved the gathering of oral histories from women who had experiences of Greenham as well as local activism within Bristol.
